Jerusalem is a DOS file virus first detected in Jerusalem, Israel, in October 1987.Jerusalem is a file infecting virus, which is the most popular among the file infecting viruses. Another fact which proves its popularity is the fact that has the largest no of variants among the viruses of its kind. Though one of the primitive viruses, Jerusalem family does not have a proper definition because of its large no of variants. Jerusalem was initially very common (for a virus of the day) and spawned a large number of variants. However, since the advent of Windows, these DOS interrupts are no longer used, so Jerusalem and its variants have become obsolete.
