Resize a Disk Partition in Windows 7 or Vista without any software
Often people feel a need for re-sizing partitions.I would call it lack of planning but still what do you think is the way out for this problem..?Formatting..? No dude...there are easier ways.Windows 7 and Vista include a built-in functionality in Disk Management to shrink and expand partitions.
Open Control Panel and type partition on the search box and you'll see option for creating and formatting hard disk partitions .
In the Disk Management screen you can edit partitions :-)
Shrink a Partition
In the Disk Management screen, right-click the partition that you wanna shrink, and select “Shrink Volume” from the menu.In the Shrink dialog box , you can enter the amount you want to shrink by(Not the new size).
Extend a Partition
In the Disk Management screen, right-click the partition that you want to shrink, and select “Extend Volume” from the menu.Specify the amount that you want to increase the partition by in the dialog box.
